In Western countries, large-scale agricultural irrigation projects boast highly advanced expertise, which holds significant importance for establishing large-scale, intensive modern agriculture. China's rural farmland is fragmented, which hinders the implementation of intensive irrigation systems. The contradiction between scarce freshwater resources and their uneven distribution is becoming increasingly prominent. To address this issue, the Chinese government has proposed the "High-Standard Farmland Irrigation Project" initiative. This involves consolidating rural land into contiguous plots, which places higher demands on large-scale centralised irrigation systems. It is against this backdrop that Zhonglan High-Standard Farmland Irrigation Dongfang came into being.
